Hire Our Facilities

Our ground is located on the picturesque Hales / Hays Meadow adjacent to the River Thames close to Abingdon town centre. Whilst the activities at our ground throughout the summer predominantly relate to playing cricket, we are permitted to host local / community groups or private events at our ground and further details on hire options can be found on this page. 

Types of Hire

 

Cricket Hire

We have a limited selection of dates where our pitch is available for hire. All hire games have access to our changing facilities and clubhouse. In the first instance, please contact the club secretary who will confirm availability of the ground and options for hire.

Please note that our ground is not available for cricket hire on Saturdays between the 11th May and 7th September.

Clubhouse Hire

Our recently refurbished clubhouse offers space for private events throughout the year. We have options for preparation of food and also a bar area. In the first instance, please contact the club secretary who will confirm availability of the clubhouse.

Ground Hire

Our large open spaces provide an excellent venue for large scale outdoor events. We have options for preparation of food and also a bar area as well as do-it-yourself hire options. In the first instance, please contact the club secretary who will confirm availability of the ground.

Our Facilities

We have recently completed a refurbishment of our main club room & bar and we are pleased to offer the following facilities:

  • Refurbished Bar

  • Open-plan Lounge Area (Capacity of up to 80 people)

  • Male & Female WC

  • Kitchen

  • Changing Room Facilities

Previous Events

In recent years, we are pleased to have hosted several community events and cricket matches at our ground including some of the following:

  • Abingdon Hockey Club Summer Fitness Training

  • Junior Softball Cricket Tournament (Attended by Sunningwell, Caldecott, Thomas Reade & St Nicolas Primary Schools)

  • School Cricket Matches for St. Helen & St. Katharine Schools

  • 4 Regiment RLC (Dalton Barracks) Army Cup Cricket Game

  • NCCA County Cricket 2-day match between Oxfordshire 2nd XI and Berkshire 2nd XI

  • MG Centenary Car Rally

  • Oxfordshire Cricket Disability Cricket Tournament

  • Against Breast Cancer - Softball Charity Cricket Tournaments

  • Cherwell Cricket League - Cup Final Venue

Caravan Hire

We are permitted to host a series of Caravan Rallies to affiliated caravan clubs only and further information for visitors to our ground can be found on the Caravan Hire Site Rules

Unfortunately we are unable to take any ad-hock bookings for Caravans not affiliated with any of the caravan clubs. Should you have any further queries then please contact our secretary.
